Today, i’m going to talk to you about an important festival in my country, the Moon Festival ( Mid-Autumn Festival ). We celebrate it in the middle of fall, on the day that the moon is full. It lasts one day. Before the festival, people prepare traditional mooncakes to eat or to send to their friends and relatives. On the day of the festival families get together to celebrate the end of the harvest season. Later in the evening, families watch the full moon, eat mooncakes, and sing moon poems. The moon symbolizes beauty. People believe that on that evening children can see a lady on the moon. They also believe that when children make a wish to the Lady on the moon, their dreams cam come true. Everyone has a great time.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is usually held in Vietnam at the time of the full moon or the full moon in August. On this day is almost like Children’s Day, children are holding games related to banyan trees, uncle cuoi, sister hang because this mid-autumn festival stems from a fairy tale. Not only that, but children are also taken by adults to go out in crowded streets, where major mid-autumn festivals are held. The children are also bought by relatives for moon lanterns, moon cakes, pebble masks, …. when the children come home from outing, they are allowed to destroy the family’s gift with their family. In short, the Mid-Autumn Festival is the day that most Vietnamese children expect to come soon
