Their goal is to create a computer virus that causes so much damage; that the news talks about the event; then the Virus Writer gets Bragging Rights. So they cause millions of people’s computers to crash and die.

Crackers are knowledgeable about how to crack computer and network security, but they are usually not as good as Hackers. They usually only focus on the skills of cracking, breaking into the system. Hackers can write software, programs, know many languages and programming skills, understand how these softwares are built and work. In contrast, very few Crackers have the skills to create new software and tools. Therefore, Cracker often downloads automated programs from malicious websites to perform its behavior.
