  1. Hi everyone ! My name is Sophie. Today, I’m going to talk about ” Is it better to grow up in the city or in the countryside?”. Living in the countryside or the city is better is a concern for many people. If you only stand on a personal point of view, where emotions are overwhelming, it is easy to lead to a one-sided view. Especially, in urban areas, green space becomes more and more necessary for people living there. According to research results, those who have a house near a park, or where there are many trees around, naturally enjoy less polluted air. On the other hand, being close to nature and trees gives them a quiet life, feeling cool – which becomes extremely important in a time when the climate is warming every day. In addition, the study adds that natural spaces also affect social and physical activities with people. And the point to emphasize, both of these activities are associated with hundreds of other lifetime benefits of each of us. Thus, the positive side of city life will become the negative side of the countryside. Although, this distance is getting closer and closer, but when you accept to return to your hometown, you have to make some sacrifices. For example, living in the countryside you have to accept insects, spiders, snakes… Which in the story of a man living in Tay Ninh bitten by a king cobra, is a typical example. In other cases, the pollution in the countryside is not inferior to the city. According to a figure published in 2015, air pollution in India kills 1.1 million people. It is worth mentioning that victims in rural areas account for 75%. And the reason lies in the fact that living in the countryside causes pollution: burning straw, burning wood, cow dung for cooking, heating…

    Thanks for your listening !

  2. Hi, my name is Duong Thai Bao, I am 13 years old this year. I was born and raised in Hue but I am currently in Da Nang city, my parents said we were born in Hue but live in the city of Da Nang. Danang because in Hue the buildings and machines are not as modern as Da Nang, but I think my parents’ thinking is wrong because Hue is a very peaceful and clean place, the air is not polluted. Eating in Hue is very delicious, clean but also very cheap, but in Da Nang, the food is not delicious but also very expensive. In Da Nang city in the afternoon it is very noisy, crowded and very polluted. But in Hue in the afternoon, it is very quiet, not crowded like in the city. Thanks to that, I realized that growing up in the countryside is better.
