  1. Skills – Global skills
Global Skills – Global skills, knowledge is knowledge, and skills are the ability to apply and practice. Currently, skills are divided into two groups of professional skills and soft skills, ways of living, working and studying in a global environment.
Regarding the ability to know, Vietnamese students are very good at knowing. The results of the PISA survey conducted by the OECD for many years have announced that Vietnamese students’ scientific and mathematical abilities are at the TOP 10 to 20 levels in the world. However, according to a survey of the World Economic Forum, the ranking of skills of university students and workers to meet job requirements is in the TOP lowest today. Vietnam’s ranking is above 110, which is lower than Laos and Cambodia, which are considered less developed than us. This shows how big a gap is between “knowing” and “requiring skills”.
Education in Vietnam currently lacks activities to enhance skills for students. Therefore, when they graduate from school, they take a long time to get used to working. This is why Vietnamese graduates and low-income workers find it difficult to join the international workforce because of a lack of work skills.
An important skill is English. The ability to communicate in English is the number one important condition. Many Vietnamese students today are very good at English and can take the English test to IELTS 6.0 or 7.0. However, the ability to use English is a completely different matter. This is related to knowledge, skills and these skills need further practice and training.

Soft skills related to how to study and work are considered to be increasingly important, especially in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. In this period, with the development of artificial intelligence, certain repetitive or logical specialized skills will gradually be replaced by robots. Therefore, human life skills that cannot be replaced by machines will become increasingly important and need training and practice. According to a report by The Economist, the study and work skills that employers need will relate to a positive attitude, problem solving, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and creativity. develop emotional intelligence.
The World Bank identifies the 21st century as an era of Skills Based Economy. Human capacity is assessed on all three aspects: knowledge, skills and attitudes. World scientists say that to be successful in life, soft skills (emotional intelligence) account for 85%, hard skills (logical intelligence) account for only 15%.
A skill is something that is not learned to know, but only formed through practice. Our Uncle Ho once said “practices give birth to understanding”. Graduates need professional skills and soft skills to be able to work in an international environment.
    Job opportunities – Global employment
Global employment, with global skills and knowledge, graduates will have the ability to work around the world. This is a goal that will be achieved in an increasingly flat and globally equipped world with knowledge and skills.
According to the statistics at the end of 2018 of the International Labor Organization (IOL), there are about 164 million migrant workers worldwide, this number has increased by 9% compared to 150 million people since 2013 and is expected ants are also booming in the period from now to 2023.
The growing Internet and IoT devices create opportunities for working globally without having to travel to another country to work. For example, at FPT Software, currently creating 18,000 jobs right from Vietnam for global companies in developed countries UK, USA, Australia… The development of the Internet can allow us to sit in one place. countries can work with many other countries in a multitude of professions from technology, commerce, law, doctors…. This is an opportunity only brought about by the impact of globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0.
As Mr. Truong Gia Binh – Chairman of FPT Corporation once shared at Swinburne University Vietnam – A training program “on-site study abroad” right in Vietnam to create global citizens for Vietnam in the future. future: “Vietnam has missed the previous 3 revolutions but will have a chance with 4.0”. Training to create quality human resources with global skills and knowledge is the first step to help Vietnam reach out to the world.
In short 3G is the basic standards of Global Citizen. Vietnamese students are currently well-trained at the high school level, especially in science skills. Many students also have very good English skills. This is a very promising Generation Z to train and develop into a global citizen and reach out to seize the opportunities brought by the 4.0 revolution.

    • Almost every global issue has multiple ethnic, social, political, and economic perspectives attached to it. It is the responsibility of global citizens to understand these different perspectives and promote problem-solving consensus among the different perspectives and the building of common ground solutions.
