Tet is one of the traditional Vietnamese holidays. It is held starting from the 1st of the Lunar New Year. To prepare for the new year, we need to go shopping for some necessary items such as clothes, lucky money, lights, new calendar … We also need to renovate our house and decorate with flowers: roses , peach blossom, apricot blossom,… or some kinds of ornamental plants such as kumquat, honeysuckle, … Before Tet, people often make Chung Cake and Giay Cake,it’s very special.In the New Year’s Eve, when the clock strikes midnight,colorful fireworks light up the sky.Everyone usually gather together and say good luck.During the Tet, I can do lots of interesting activities such as visit my relatives,get lucky money,enjoy some traditional festivals,….Tet is the time to gather family and it’s the best time in the year.

Tết là một trong những ngày lễ truyền thống của Việt Nam. Nó được tổ chức bắt đầu từ mùng 1 Tết Nguyên đán. Để chuẩn bị cho năm mới, chúng ta cần sắm sửa một số vật dụng cần thiết như quần áo, bao lì xì, đèn, lịch mới … Chúng ta cũng cần sửa sang nhà cửa và trang trí bằng các loại hoa: hoa hồng, hoa đào, hoa mai, … hoặc một số loại cây cảnh như quất, kim ngân, … Trước Tết, người ta thường làm bánh Chưng, bánh Giầy, rất đặc biệt, trong đêm giao thừa, khi đồng hồ điểm nửa đêm, pháo hoa rực rỡ rực rỡ bầu trời. Mọi người thường quây quần bên nhau và nói lời chúc may mắn.Trong dịp Tết, tôi có thể tham gia nhiều hoạt động thú vị như thăm họ hàng, lì xì, thưởng thức một số lễ hội truyền thống, …. Tết là thời gian để sum họp gia đình và đó là thời điểm tốt nhất trong năm.

Lunar New Year or Tet, is the biggest and most important festival in Vietnam. Tet often falls between late January and early February every year.
Before Tet, streets are decorated with many colored lights and flowers. People are busy decorating and cleaning their house, cooking traditional food like Banh Chung, fruit jams. During Tet, people take part in many different activities such as visiting relatives and friends, going to pagodas to pray for good luck and happiness, eating many kinds of food. Children like wearing new clothes and getting lucky money in red envelopes from adults.
Tet is time for family members to gather. Tet is really a time of fun
