  2. Simon opened the door and knew immediately he had made a mistake. He was embraced with layers of snow collapsing on his torso, the wind howled furiously and as if it was trying to blow away the house. The little boy fought against the intense force of the wind and stood on his feet. He promptly closed the door to avoid any more snow getting into his house. ‘But it’s summer’ he thought ‘and there is no snow in summer’; after a moment or two, Simon decided to finding the answer to the strange incident. He turned around to be bewildered by the scene of the snow covering every furniture, every nook and cranny.

The boy noticed a white envelop laying safe and sound on the pile of snow beside his feet. He bended down and picked it up, ‘To my dearest Simon’ he read out loud the letters written neatly on the letter, they are probably the most gorgeous handwriting he had ever seen, unlike his father’s which was small and illegible. Little Simon opened the letter and was surprised to see what it said.

    ‘Happy Birthday Simon, Love, Weiss.’

It was his 6th birthday, he always wondered why his mother had never showed up to take care of him, to ever give him birthday presents. Simon opened the door again, hoped to see the person who sent him this letter, but the street was empty; he frowned. He noticed that the letter had several detailed snowflakes patterns, he gently ran his ran his fingers on the thin and chill paper’s surface; ‘so pretty’ he thought to himself. They reminded him of the beautiful lady in the picture hanging in his father’s room, she was wearing a snow white dress which also had the similar patterns at the bottom, Simon initially thought she was an angel, judging by her delicate and kind features. ‘The letter smelt nice as well’ he blurted out loud in pure amazement, it smells like daisy, his father’s favourite flower; ‘could it be her?’, Simon embraced the letter to his chest.
