   Chọi trâu là một lễ hội độc đáo và truyền thống của người dân tại quận Đồ Sơn, thành phố Hải Phòng. Lễ hội này không chỉ liên quan đến tập tục thờ và hiến tế cho Thần Nước mà còn thể hiện tinh thần dũng cảm, hào hiệp, và luôn sẵn sàng đương đầu thử thách của người dân thành phố biển Hải Phòng. Vào ngày hội du khách khắp nơi đổ về xem hội rất đông. Trước khi bắt đầu chọi trâu có một màn múa cờ truyền thống rất đặc sắc. Sau đó các cụ già làng dắt trâu ra thế là bắt đầu một ngày hội chọi trâu. Từ chọn những con trâu chuẩn xác để mua, nuôi và huấn luyện chúng, tất cả đều yêu cầu sự chăm chỉ và nỗ lực không ngừng. Ví dụ, việc chọn trâu chiến yêu cầu sự tỉ mỉ cao khi chúng phải đáp ứng hàng loạt các yêu cầu: ít nhất 4 đến 5 tuổi, ngực rộng, sừng hình cánh cung, đùi săn chắc, và đuôi dài. Đồng thời, những con trâu này được tách khỏi những con trâu thông thường, và hơn thế nữa… Lễ hội này được chuyển hóa từ niềm tin của người dân địa phương Đồ Sơn rằng chọi trâu là hoạt động ưa thích của thần bảo hộ của họ và vì vậy việc duy trì liên tục hoạt động này sẽ đem đến những chuyến đi an toàn, mùa màng thuận lợi cũng như những con người khỏe mạnh và giàu có – dấu hiệu của sự phồn vinh và hạnh phúc.

2. Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. Besides, the meal has other dishes like fish, vegetable to show the hope for a successful and prosperous new year. In term of customs, children’s receiving red envelop from the elder, visiting relative’s houses and going to church are popular activities. Giving lucky money is thought to bring children hope and health.For any Vietnamese people, Tet is always the most important day of the year because it is not only the moment to mark the passing of the old year, to welcome a new year with new hopes but beside It is also a chance for families to sit down and gather together.
